Art History

The artist I will use to influence my web art is Ben Horton.  He utilizes a varying amount of styles from retro and anthropomorphic to bold handwriting.  The overall style I will be studying will be that of Surrealism and its psychoanalyst of the unconscious mind. The profit making off of war in this country is an issue left under the rug by the conglomerate controlled media.  The genre of Surrealism looks at the psychological world and how we interact with the physical.  Ben Horton comments on issues such as political corruption and the effect that our "projected society" has on our perception of reality.  The surrealist genre can comment on the interaction between projections of society and reality while giving insight into the metal impact of said struggle.

Social Issue Proposal

War Profiteering and modern war profiteers.  The recent war in the Middle East championed as the war against "terror" has required massive amounts of supplies to be purchased by the U.S. Government.  In recent times these war contracts have been given to companies who are in extreme conflict of interests.  Members of the administration shared ownership and chair positions with the same companies that received war contracts for a war that was conducted under their leadership.  I will research companies such as Halli Burton and KBR and the secret ownership linked to the administration and Dink Cheney in both Bush presidencies.
